A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The drawback of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam email messages, but this problem can be solved using anti-spam protection software. It is also essential to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound email messages to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you’ve got a shared package with us and you would like to enable the catch-all functionality for a specific email mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it will take literally just one single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can pick one email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature right away, so all messages sent to misspelled addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature until you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all feature can be activated without any effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a small-size sign conveniently situated directly next to each one of them. With just one single click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this feature using the menu that will show up. In case any of the preconditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will notify you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
